ECU:
the electronic injection control unit
The
lightweight, simplified integrated injection system (PGM-F1) is yet
another of the Cota
4RT's revolutionary technologies. With a lower volume than that of conventional
carburetors,
it brings together in a single piece the throttle body and the ECU -
its intelligent,
high-precision control unit.
Its sensors perform instantaneous calculations of a range of variables
such as environment and
engine temperature, atmospheric pressure, etc., to ensure its optimal
working and a precise
response anywhere, including demanding high-altitude conditions.
|
Battery-free
starting:
Taking advantage of its R&D experience, Honda has launched a world's
first:
a system in which the kick start activates an extremely high-performance
generator that
provides the ECU with enough power to run the fuel injection pump, thus
guaranteeing a
quick reliable start, eliminating the need for a battery feeding the
electronic injection system,
and reducing weight.

Frame:
The introduction of a new engine has meant a complete redesign of the
frame to bring it in
line with new requirements. The new aluminium twin spar frame surrounds
the engine in a
diamond-type configuration, providing an optimal balance between rigidity
and handling, as
well as perfect integration of the tank, the mudguard and the one piece
muffler. Furthermore,
the weight/rigidity ratio has been optimised, losing 1.6kg without affecting
performance.
|
Suspension:
Exclusive design from Showa both front and rear.
Front:
39mm cartridge-type fork with a special titanium nitrate coating, with
22-step
adjustable compression and 20-step rebound damping, 175mm axle travel.
Rear:
vertically set gas chamber absorber offers maximum travel and gives
lower centre of
gravity and reduced seat height, stepless compression and 12-step rebound
damping
adjustment, 170mm axle travel.
